SCRIP, ZLT and the market
Coming soon: a market where players buy and sell gear with each other, the two currencies it runs on, and the seasons its fees pay for.
01What's coming
Zombieland is getting a market where players buy and sell gear with each other: at the Market Board in the camp, and on the website's market page.
Prices will be set by the players who buy and sell. Nothing here is a promise that you'll make money, or of what ZLT or any item will be worth.
02Two currencies
| Currency | What it's for | In and out |
|---|---|---|
| SCRIP | The in-game money you already have: earned by selling what you find to Mags, and spent at her stall. With the market it also pays for repairs, crafting and listing deposits. | Never withdrawn, and never turned into ZLT |
| ZLT, the Zombieland Token | Used only on the player market, to buy and sell gear. | Deposited from your wallet, withdrawn to it |
The game never makes new ZLT: what a seller is paid, a buyer brought in. There's no rate between the two, so SCRIP never turns into ZLT.
There are 1,000,000,000 ZLT in all, so amounts are big numbers: prices run to thousands and millions, in whole ZLT. When you type one, 250k and 2.5m work too.
03The player market
- What you can sell: items in your stash, once you're signed in with a wallet. Never gear that's out on a run, never the free starter kit, and never anything a guest brought.
- A fixed price: you set one price for the whole lot, from 1 ZLT up, for 1, 3 or 7 days. One buyer takes all of it. Unsold, it comes back to your stash.
- A listed item leaves your stash until it sells or you take it down: you can't take it out on a run, use it or sell it to Mags meanwhile. You can have 20 listings open at once.
- A listing takes a small SCRIP deposit, by rarity: 5 for Common, 10 for Uncommon, 25 for Rare, 50 for Epic and 100 for Legendary. You get it back when it sells, and not if you take it down or it runs out.
- The fee is 2.5% of each sale, paid by the seller.
- Parcels: if you're out on a run or your stash is full when something reaches you, it waits for you to collect.
- Anyone can look. Sellers show by survivor name, never by wallet. Guests can browse; buying and selling need a wallet survivor.
| Where it goes | Share of the fee |
|---|---|
| Running the game | 40% |
| The season's reward pool | 40% |
| Burned, gone for good | 20% |
On a sale of 1,000,000 ZLT, the seller gets 975,000. Of the 25,000 fee, 10,000 goes to running the game, 10,000 to the season's reward pool and 5,000 is burned.
04Rare gear and risk
Rare things are rare on purpose. Only the game server decides what's in a container, and the rarer an item, the harder it is to find. Dying, wear, ammunition and crafting keep taking items out of the game, so what's rare stays rare and someone always needs more.
That's why rare gear costs a lot, and why taking it out is a risk: die out there and everything you carried stays where you fell. A rifle in your stash is safe; a rifle on a run is a bet.
05Seasons
A season lasts 4 weeks. Its reward pool is 40% of that season's market fees, so it's only ever what really came in. It's shared out in shares, never fixed amounts, after the season ends.
| Ladder | Share | Who it's for |
|---|---|---|
| Extraction Ladder | 50% | The top 100 by what they brought home minus what they took out, counting the risk (Hot over Calm). |
| Crew Ladder | 20% | The same for crews, shared among the members on the runs. |
| Community Contracts | 15% | Weekly goals for the whole server, shared among everyone who helped. |
| Boss Hunter and First Finds | 15% | Brute kills on Hot (credit for real damage), and the first players each season to bring home each Legendary item. |
- Only stats the game server confirmed count.
- Wallet accounts only: not brand new, and with runs that season. Crews with a guest in them don't count.
- Checked for cheating before anything is paid. Shares nobody claims, or that are disqualified, go to the next season.
- No prizes for trading a lot, and never a raffle or a random draw.
06Keeping it safe
- Withdrawals go only to the wallet you signed in with, never to another address.
- Limits: a smallest withdrawal, a flat fee that covers the network's cost, and a daily cap. They're adjusted over time, so the wallet panel shows the ones in force. Large withdrawals are checked by a person first.
- Holds: a new account's withdrawals wait 72 hours from its first sign-in, and 24 hours after a large deposit.
- Deposits come from your signed-in wallet and count once the transfer is final on chain.
- Every change is recorded, to the exact amount.
- A test token first. The market opens with test ZLT on Solana's test network. It has no value.
Signing in still costs nothing and needs no transaction: see Wallet or guest.
