Your survivorFreeNo transaction3 min read

No account to start. Play as a guest in this browser, or sign in with a Solana wallet to keep your survivor on any computer.

01Playing as a guest

Straight in: make your survivor, then you're in the camp. Nothing to set up and nothing to sign. Your survivor, its stash and its skills live in this browser only. Clear the site's data, use a private window or switch browser or computer, and you start over.

A new guest gets a few supplies and 60 scrip to try the stations with. You can sign in from the camp any time.

02Signing in with a wallet

Sign in with a Solana wallet in your browser, such as Phantom, Solflare or Backpack. Your wallet signs one short message to prove it's yours, and nothing else. It says:

Sign in to Zombieland. This only proves you own this wallet: no transaction, no fee.
No transaction, no fee. Signing in never moves anything in your wallet, and nothing in the game is for sale.

The first time, a survivor is made for that wallet, keeping your guest's name and look (not its gear). It starts with the free starter kit only: scrip and gear are earned out there.

03What your survivor keeps

A signed-in survivor is kept on the server, so it's the same on any computer you sign in on. It keeps:

  • The stash: everything you've brought home, crafted or bought.
  • The skills below, level by level.
  • Your needs: hunger and thirst, and any infection or radiation you came home with.
  • Scrip, your journal and your look.

What happens on a run is decided by the game server, and it moves your gear in and out of your stash itself. If a server stops answering mid-run, what it took out is given back.

04Skills

8 skills grow by doing the thing. Each goes from level 0 to 10; the first level takes 100 XP and every one after takes half as much again, 11,333 XP in all. XP earned on a run is banked when you get out; if you die, you keep 75% of it.

The skills

Levels you've earned are never lost. Hunger and thirst below 20 still make anyone weak.

05Guests and wallets in one crew

Guests and signed-in survivors can crew together. A guest's gear works on the run, but a signed-in survivor never banks it, since it can't be checked. In a crew with signed-in players, guests play at skill level 0.
